DCHC receives container ships with a draft of 15 meters ||Sep 2020

Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Company received the container ship New York Express, which is affiliated with the Hapag-Lloyd shipping line. The dimensions of the New York Express ship are 366 meters in length and 48 meters in width, and the draft is 15 meters with a maximum load of 14,000 TEUs. It is worth noting that Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company is currently implementing a giant project to consolidate and deepen the container berths so that it can receive giant container ships in service with a draft of 16.5 meters and a load of more than 20 thousand TEUs, and the station has started to implement the modern information system.
